Last night after Evelyn went to bed, Ethan had fun pushing Matthew around on their rocking horse. They ran up and down the hallway starting a new game in our house. . . .
This morning, Matthew was ready for Mom to push him down the hall, turn around in his room, and back down into the living room. Once Evelyn saw his new game, of course she wanted in. So, Matthew went first--feet up? "feet up," hold on tight! "hold on tight!," here we go! "here we go!!" and we go running down the hallway. After our first round back, I said "Evie's Turn" to which Matthew replied "Evie's Turn!!!" and happlily got off the horse.
Another run down the hallway and back, and now it's "Matthew's Turn!" Evelyn was not as happy to give up the reigns. We had a full out meltdown as Matthew stood by waiting for his turn. As I removed Evelyn from the horse, Matthew crawled on, but ended up getting back off because he couldn't see Evie so upset!
After a sweet hug, and a few more "turns," Evelyn caught on. Hopefully our next try at taking turns will be free from tears.
