Friday turned out to be a beautiful (HOT) day, so we packed up and headed to Como Zoo. Matthew and Evie had never been on rides before, so I decided it was time to try that out. . . .we also hadn't been to the como zoo since they reconstructed the polar bear exhibit. This was always one of my favorite parts of the zoo as a kid.
We had a fun day! Here's the proof:
| Love the big carousel at the zoo. Matthew didn't last too long on this horse. He wanted to sit on a bench on the carousel. |
| Evie really enjoyed the ride too. We should have talked more about how rides work though, because she didn't want to get off when it was over, and she cried the whole way over to the stroller until we talked about taking turns on the rides with other kids. |
| There were two seals really actively swimming around seal island! When I was a kid we used to be able to buy fish to feed them. . .they must not do that anymore, which I wasn't too sad about! Yuck! :-) |
| Evie watching the seals swim by. |
| Snow cones for everyone! It was soooo HOT! |
| I think I have a picture like this of Ethan when he was this age too, so had to get one of the twins while we were there. |
| Evie didn't want to sit on the Giraffe's because she wouldn't let go of her snow cone! |
| After the zoo, it was on to the rides! This was the first ride the kids went on. I wasn't sure how it would go, but they both loved it! | | |
| I have always liked rides, and the tea cups have been at como forever! |
| This was a little train they went one--they both sat in the caboose, so it was tough to get pictures. |
| Evelyn has become much more outgoing, and talks to everyone we see! She asked the little girl in line behind us if she wanted to sit next to her on the train ride. Then, when it came around the track, I saw that they were all holding hands! Cute! |
| Tilt-a-whirl!!! My favorite!! |
Between the beach yesterday, and como today, it was a great way to spend a couple of summer days with my kids. I am so glad I was able to take the time off and that the weather cooperated so we could spend the days together and have fun. It was also a nice way to spend some time with Ethan before his trip to California.
